Assignment Seven: A Concept Photograph.

Posted by with 8 Comments

balloonsThis is a concept assignment and I only got two words for you…

Yep… that is your assignment… Red Balloons.

Shoot them YOUR way, any way. I do not care what you do with them… but impress me.

This is what we call a concept shot. There will be more, but this one will drive you nuts if you let it.

Have no fear that there are others that are worse… bwahahahaha.

Here’s the skinny…

I do not care about how you shoot the red balloons, or in what style or what you have as subject matter… only that red balloons feature prominently in the shot.

This assignment is due four hours before show time for each webinar.

My idea for making the red balloons photo was to integrate the balloons as a part of the celebration of winning a state basketball championship. I think the photo is a victim of shutter shake and some other things but I did shoot about 70 different images on two occasions. I felt a lot of pressure to work quickly because my model was a volunteer and I wanted to be mindful of her time. I also have to work on getting the best exposure I can with someone who is very fair skinned while being aware of the lighting source. In this case, it was light that was available in the room from lights and a window. I know I have a long way to go on many fronts.

Don-I won’t be there for the critique on Saturday, but I wanted to get the assignment in. I know what I think the flaws are in the shot, but I look forward to seeing what you think.

I submit my image for this assignment last week, but I’m not seeing it in the postings… I resent it @ 10:45 (8:45 your time). I’m hoping you have time to pull it in before the show????
