Assignment Thirty Six: “How We Roll”

Posted by with 1 Comment

A Photograph of WHEELS, Baby!

Your wheels! Your best buds wheels! Your neighbors wheels!

The wheels that you LOVE! (And we all love our rides, don’t we…)

How we roll is about our vehicles. Cars, bikes, trikes, skateboards, scooters, unicycles, trucks and buses. How we roll is about the nature of motion – the nature of the road.

What is it about the automobile that makes us fall in love with them and want our own? Why does a motorcycle hold such enchantment and folklore? Skateboards are coveted by certain young people, while others long for the pedals and the bike on the open road.

So – how do YOU roll? Show us with style!

I won’t be able to be on the call Saturday AM. I submitted a photo I worked to make Thursday at the a bit over an hour from here. I stumbled onto the RRF when taking the assignment quite literally and I started looking a place to shoot cars that was not too far away. I had no idea this place existed before I started searching on the topic. Since I am still trying to improve at exposure, that was my personal goal for this assignment. The space and the lighting were a challenge. The cars are so shined that I see sometimes see me in some the photos where I thought I was careful not to see me in the reflections. There are also lights reflecting in the photos. In the photo I submitted, I thought the reflected lines added to the line of the shot. I was told the cars come out to play around 10:30 every third Saturday of the month. Cool…….
